In the integrated Work and Research Programme 2018-2021, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) presents its focal points for the program period.

BAuA's work and research activities continue to be structured along four strategic fields of action, whose focal points and topics are explained in this Programme. Recent developments and challenges are met by the implementation of the new key topic "Safety and Health in the Digital World of Work".

Moreover, the Work and Research Programme 2018-2021 outlines the cornerstones of BAuA's organizational and personnel development as well as the principles and modes of operation regarding BAuA's diverse tasks. These include research and development, statutory and sovereign tasks in regulation, policy advice, practice transfer and mediation.

Moreover, in the new programme period, BAuA will intensify its cooperation with universities, set up a research data centre, and further intensify interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration and networking in BAuA's fields of action.
