The European Parliament's Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) has urged faster and broader EU action on PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) following a heated policy debate with the European Commission in Brussels. It debates EU PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) phase-out, pressing the Commission for faster REACH action and uniform restrictions across sectors. The session, held in April 2025, spotlighted deep political support for an ambitious crackdown on PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) under REACH, amid evidence of rising public health and environmental risks.
