Projektbeschreibung :

The digital transformation remains a central driver of change in the world of work, challenging existing criteria for humane work. To ensure employee safety and health, it is crucial to empirically capture technological changes and derive targeted preventive measures. The second wave of the study "Digitalisation and Change in Employment" (DiWaBe 2.0) provides representative employee data to address existing research gaps, e. g. concerning artificial intelligence and virtual collaboration.

The central question focuses on changing job demands and resources associated with digital technologies and their potential consequences on employee job satisfaction and health. Additionally, linking the data with the first wave enables the analysis of temporal developments.

The dual survey design, combining cross-sectional and panel survey, supports descriptive analyses of the prevalence of digital technologies as well as in-depth analyses of their impacts. The longitudinal design, in particular, allows for the identification of causal relationships. Furthermore, DiWaBe data can be linked with other data sources, such as company data, to analyse transformation processes across various levels. The findings provide essential insights for the strategic development of the BAuA’s research program, emphasizing the design of safe and healthy working conditions in the digital world of work.
