Projektbeschreibung :
Violence and harassment in the workplace are widespread problems worldwide. In Germany, two-thirds of employees have experienced violence in the last two years (DGB, 2023).
Personal services play an important role in the labor market. Harassment and violence from customers, patients, pupils or guests, for example, are urgent social problems that the project addresses.
The aim is to determine the frequency of harassment and violence in personal services and to identify effective preventive measures and design principles for the protection of workers.
To this end, a combined research approach of task analyses, systematic literature and project research, secondary data analysis, expert discussions and primary data collection (quantitative and qualitative surveys) is being pursued.
The research should provide specific recommendations for action that can be implemented in operational practice to improve the protection of workers and promote a violence-free work environment. The project thus expands the current state of research and at the same time contributes to the practical implementation and improvement of working conditions in personal services. In addition, it contributes to the implementation of current legislation, which requires the federal government to promote a harassment- and violence-free working environment from May 2023, creates a basis for evidence-based policy advice, and contributes to the improvement of occupational safety.
