Candidate List under REACH Update: Inclusion of two more chemicals

  • Date 2021-02-05

As of January 19, 2021, two new substances have been added to the Candidate List under REACH, making the list 211 chemicals. The two new Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) are mainly used in inks/toners, plastics and rubber tires. The substances have been included in the candidate list under REACH due to their reproductive and developmental toxic properties.

Companies that have more than 0.1% (w/w) of the substances in their products are required to provide information to customers to ensure safe use of the product. Importers have 6 months after inclusion on the list to inform ECHA about their products containing these substances.
