Legal framework for the deployment of autonomous and AI systems

The use of industrial machines with AI-based algorithms seems to be possible. However, the impact of AI systems on the safety of employees and possible changes to the existing legal framework have not yet been systematically investigated. In the project F 2432, a taxonomy was developed that identifies safety-relevant factors in AI systems in the industrial sector. Based on this taxonomy, recommendations for the further development of product safety law are given. By introducing different legal constructs, the legal framework can be adapted to the specific characteristics of AI systems.
