Search for Successfully Implemented Alternatives

You can use the free text search function to find information in the case story database. Most suitable are: substance name and other substance identifier (EC- and CAS-number). You can refine your search after first entry for sector-, function- and process-categories. The case studies are meant to serve as source of inspiration and ideas for substitution. The alternatives are constantly being developed further. We therefore recommend that you to check in each individual case whether an alternative is suitable for your applications and purposes. If you are aware of any other relevant information that is not mentioned in the current case story, please contact SUBSPORTplus.

Sie wird für Zahlungen verwendet, wenn sie als Geschenkgutschein ausgestellt wird oder zum Öffnen eines Hotelzimmers, wenn sie als Schlüssel genutzt wird, eine PVC-Karte mit Magnetstreifen erfüllt viele Funktionen. Jedes Jahr werden rund 30 Milliarden PVC-Karten hergestellt. Eine Holzkarte würde dieselbe Funktionalität und Leistung bieten, aber mit einem wesentlich kleineren CO2-Ausstoß und einem weniger schädlichen Einfluss auf die Umwelt.

Used for payment when issued as a gift card or opening a hotel room when used as a key card a PVC card with a magnetic stripe fills many functions. Each year, roughly 30 billion PVC cards are produced. A wood card will provide the same functionality and performance but with a much smaller carbon footprint and with a less damaging environmental impact.
