The easy-to-use workplace control scheme for hazardous substances - EMKG - a pragmatic guide for risk assessment regarding hazardous substances will be updated to include further technical aspects and modification in regulation. In addition, EMKG tools such as EMKG Kompakt will be reworked and web-based applications will be optimized.
Main focus of technical improvement for EMKG 3.0 will be on integrating a module on fire- and explosion hazards. Furthermore, the new technical rule for hazardous substances TRGS 510 "Storage" will be integrated, the correlation between H-phrases derived from CLP regulation (Classification, Labelling, Packaging) and hazard groups will be reassessed, and ideas on checking effectiveness regarding mixtures with operational exposure limits will be developed.
Existing control guidance sheets will be revised, will be supplemented by occupational health aspects, and new control guidance sheets will be generated.
The practical guide which comprehensively delineates the overall concept of EMKG will be reworked considering didactical issues. Of particular importance will be the redesign of the EMKG webpage, where also the EMKG online-tool - an electronic instrument for performance of the risk assessment - will be hosted. As support for "on-site" risk assessments, the EMKG Kompakt will be adapted to include modifications of EMKG 3.0.
